EXCURSIONS & COMPANY VISITS

The IGLC33 Organising Committee is putting together a few excursions & company visits for you, providing attendees the possibility to experience Lean construction in Japan. Keep reading for more information on the programme and what to expect.

PROGRAMME

Friday 30 May 2025: Site visit Takenaka
Project: Minoh Senba Station Front Development Project

Overview: This project is a new 31-story high-rise residential development with 567 total units. The building has a floor area of approximately 2,500 square meters per floor, with a total floor area of 62,500 square meters and a maximum height of 99.9m. As one of the development projects in front of Minoh Senba Station, it is planned to be a new landmark of the area, located just one minute from the station.

During this site visit to the Minoh Senba Station Front Development Project, you will participate in the morning assembly and observe Japanese construction culture, quality control, and safety management methods. The upper floors feature typical Japanese Takt Planning. You will have the opportunity to dialogue with practitioners who have integrated various elements of lean construction into their daily operations.

Required dress code: Long-sleeve shirts and long pants (prohibited Items: skirts, high heels, and sandals).

Wednesay 4 June 2025: Site visit Asanuma
Project: The site of a logistics warehouse in the Taisho area of Osaka City.

During this site visit you will get the opportunity to learn how Asanuma is managing quality within their projects. Asanuma is a large Osaka-based contractor that has been involved in the execution of The Netherlands Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. Whereas you will ‘experience’ that result during the welcome reception, they are proud to show you a project in Osaka that is still under construction.

Meeting point: TBD. Priority will be given to those who signed up for the ‘Lean Quality’-workshop.
Required dress code: Long-sleeve shirts, long pants and comfortable shoes. Helmets will be provided.
