BlueDot’s event management team is putting together a special for you: The Expo & Lean Study Tour, providing a limited group of attendees the full experience of lean construction, the Expo 2025 event and Japan. Keep reading for more information on the programme and what to expect.
PROGRAMME
Tuesday 27 May 2025: Introduction & Welcome dinner
The Expo & Lean Study Tour will commence in Tokyo with an introduction to Japan and a Welcome dinner. The event is meant to provide the attendees with a final brief of the study tour, and an introduction to the Japanese culture. Of course, the informal setting will also allow for you to get to know your co-travellers.
Wednesday 28 May 2025: Company visit(s) Tokyo & City tour
Today is about experiencing the lean philosophy and the Japanese corporate culture during a number of company visits in Tokyo. The day will also include a city tour to get an impression of this global city, partly by day and mainly by night.
Thursday 29 May 2025: Company visit(s) Nagoya
The participants will travel with the famous ‘Shinkansen’ from Tokyo to Nagoya. Nagoya is not only known as one of the industrial cities of Japan, it is also the city of Toyota.
Friday 30 May 2025: Company visit(s) Osaka (alternative: Expo Event Day)
The programme of this day includes construction company visits and site visits in Osaka. This means that the group will travel from Nagoya to Osaka, and experience yet another region of Japan. As an alternative, we are trying to develop and organise an Expo Event Day in collaboration with the countries participating to the Expo 2025 Event. The participants get the option to attend this day in case of interest.
Saturday 31 May 2025: Guided Pavilion Tours & Cultural activity
The guided pavilion tour days offer participants an exclusive opportunity to explore groundbreaking designs and innovative concepts showcased in the pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka. In collaboration with the participating countries, you will get a guided tour through their pavilion and get to experience what they have prepared to showcase to the world.
Sunday 1 June 2025: Guided Pavilion Tours & Welcome Reception
Expo 2025 Osaka has a lot to offer, and one day is certainly not enough. Your experience at Yumeshima island will continue with another half-day tour of pavilions. The day will end with a Welcome Reception that is the formal start of the IGLC33 Conference.
Monday 2 June 2025: Industry Day
The programme of this day includes the attendance to the Industry Day (refer to Programme of the Industry Day for more information) and the Industry Networking Event.
Tuesday 3 June 2025: Workshop Day
The programme of this day includes the attendance to the Workshop Day (refer to Programme of the Workshop Day for more information) and a final ‘goodbye’ dinner.
Wednesday 4 June 2025: And of you go…
After a final sleep in Osaka as part of this tour, it is time to say goodbye and go your own way.

EXPECTATIONS
For a fee of USD 7,500.00-8,000.00 per person, participants of the Expo & Lean Study Tour get the enjoy the full experience. The team will organise it all for you. Besides the above programme elements, the study tour includes all cultural programme elements, accommodation, food and transportation. Flights to Tokyo and from Osaka are excluded - you are just expected to show up on Tuesday evening 27 May 2025 in Tokyo and we will let you go on Wednesday morning 4 June 2025 from Osaka.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Article 1. Registration & application
Registration for the Expo & Lean Study Tour takes place by sending the fully completed registration form – registration for specials – via the website of ‘The 33rd Annual Conference of the International Group for Lean Construction’ (IGLC33).
IGLC33 always confirms a registration in writing by e-mail. By sending this confirmation, the agreement regarding participation in the IGLC33 Expo & Lean Study Tour is established.
Applications will be processed in order of registration.
The participant is responsible for providing the correct contact information, credit card details and billing address.
Upon registration, the rate as stated on the website applies (a minimum of USD 7,500.00 and a maximum of USD 8,000.00, depending on the amount of participants) and other documentation at the time of registration, unless otherwise agreed and recorded in writing.
The participation fee will be charged in advance.
Article 2. Cancellation by participant
Cancellation by the participant can only take place in writing by e-mail.
Cancellation is only valid after written confirmation by IGLC.
In case of cancellation, the deposit will be lost. The remaining amount will be charged as follows:
In case of cancellation from 4 weeks before the start of tour, 50% will be charged.
In case of cancellation from 2 weeks before the start of tour, 100% will be charged.
Article 3. Changes or cancellations by IGLC 33
At all times IGLC33 is entitled to adjust the programme to suit the exact group size and availability best.
IGLC33 reserves the right to cancel the Expo & Lean Study Tour up to four (4) weeks before the start of tour. The participant(s) will be informed of this immediately. If possible, IGLC33 will offer the participant(s) an alternative.
Article 4. Payment
Upon registration for the IGLC33 Expo & Lean Study Tour, an advanced payment is made by means of a deposit of USD 1,75 (One Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty United States Dollars) on the participant's credit card.
The remaining amount of the participation fee will be invoiced in advance (in case a credit card payment for the rest of the amount a 7.3% fee will be charged for Eventsair and Stripe).
The standard payment terms are stated on the invoice. If the participant does not pay or does not pay on time, any costs resulting from this will be borne by the participant. These costs include all judicial and extrajudicial costs.
Article 5. Liability
The participant is responsible for taking out travel insurance and cancellation insurance.
IGLC33 is not liable for any business or consequential damage, direct and/or indirect, caused by hired assistants.
IGLC33 is not liable for damage to property of the participant(s) and third parties, nor for stagnation or consequential damage.
Participation in workshops, sports activities and excursions, as part of the Study Tour Expo & Lean Study Tour, are at the participant's own risk.
